Funeral services for Mr. John "Barry" Roach will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Kevin Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Dubach, LA under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Roach, age 71, of Colfax, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
Barry was a native of Athens, LA. He was a U. S. Marine Corp Veteran and he retired as Captain of the LA State Police. During his career, he worked as a patrolman, detective and in narcotics. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed fishing and collecting arrowheads. Barry was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Pollock and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Roach is preceded in death by his parents, John Roach and Omega Wilson and his sister, Melba Driskill.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his former wife, Sharon Oxford Roach of Colfax; his daughter, Julie Coleman and her husband Charlie of Pollock; his son, Jason Roach and his wife Hayley of Shreveport; his brother Wilson Douglas Roach of El Paso, TX; two grandchildren, Ashley Wingerd, Austin Wingerd; one step-grandchild, Brandon Coleman and two great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Weston.
Visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9:00 am until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Troopers from LA State Police Troop E.
