Douglas was born April 19, 1928 to Jestine LaCaze and Gracie Longlois LaCaze in Flora, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Shreveport. Douglas was a resident of Shreveport. He was married for 54 years to Elva Ann (Attaway) LaCaze. He was a teletype operator for three years while he served in the Air Force. He retired from the Shreveport Police Department and continued a valet service until he was 81 years old. He loved duck hunting and fishing. He was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ having served in many positions for over 71 years at Calvary Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher and chairman of the deacons and continued worshipping at Frierson Baptist Church. He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing as well as spectating. He loved his family and everyone he met. His children and grandchildren were the blessings in his life. They brought him such joy! Douglas is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elva Ann LaCaze; and brother, J.C. LaCaze. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Darrell W. LaCaze, and Ronald C. LaCaze and wife, Jana LaCaze; daughter, Lisa LaCaze-Ainsworth and husband, Mark Ainsworth; grandchildren, Melanie Luck, Ryan LaCaze, Josh Delrie, and Patrick LaCaze; four great-grandchildren; brother, Kirby LaCaze; and sister, Betty Lee. That is a comfort to us but he will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family.
