Johnnie was born on July 16, 1936 to Johnnie Stanley Griffin and Vinnie Lee Woodall in Farmerville, Louisiana and passed away on February 2, 2021 in Stonewall, Louisiana.

Johnnie was a resident of Stonewall and worked as a barber at Sunset Barber Shop from 1965 to 2006. He served in the United States Air Force for ten years. He enjoyed caring for his vegetable garden, especially his “pink girl’ tomatoes. He also enjoyed cutting grass or picking up leaves on his riding mower and just being outdoors in general.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Bettye Griffin; sister, Mary Dinkins and husband, Edward; sister-in-law, Karen Conley; brother-in-law, Jerald Hickman; children, Cheri G. Smith and husband, Greg, Johnnie L. Griffin, Jr.; grandchildren, Benji White and wife, Tami, Millete JoLynn Griffin, Andrew Griffin and wife, Shawne; great-grandchildren, Codey and Caley White, Madeline Tharpe, Rayelynn Landry, Douglas Landry, Lindsay, Kyleigh, Gauge and Briar Griffin; and honorary family, Tammy McKee and family and Mark Blake.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Brookwood Baptist Church or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
