SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Elbert Don Ivey, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Don's son, Terry Ivey, will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18th at the funeral home. Don was a father and husband. He enjoyed dancing, singing and spent most of his time working. He retired from KCS Railroad as a mechanic. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Charline Evans Ivey, his son, Tony Ivey, along with his parents and a number of siblings. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlene Oats Ivey; brother, Albert Eddie Ivey, Jr.; sister, Maxine Clark; sons, J.W. Ivey, Terry Ivey, Donald Ivey, Philip Ivey, and Anthony Kelley; daughters, Tammy Lofton and Candes Kelley; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honoring Don as pallbearers will be Colten Kelley, Logan Kelley, Jason Ivey, Anthony Kelley, Brian Ivey, and Jay Cougar. Honorary pallbearer will be JR Ivey. The family would like to say a special thanks to Shreveport Regional Hospice for the outstanding service and care they gave to Don.
