COUSHATTA, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Stanley R. Welch, 77, will be held with Masonic Rites at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Opbroek. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
Stanley was born on January 13, 1936 in Farnam, NE and passed away on May 28, 2013. He was a resident of Coushatta, LA. He worked at the Red River Sheriff's Department and retired from the KCS Railroad. He was a member of Church of Christ and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Del and Frances E. Welch; his brother Del "Buzz" Welch, Jr. and nephew, Lee Welch. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Cynthia Welch Broussard and husband, Gerry; sons, Norman Welch and wife, Angela and Richard Welch and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Garrett Broussard and Zachary Welch; sisters, Katherine Welch Fulk and Anne Welch Weddel. He was married to Syble Giddings Welch for 53 years.
Pallbearers will be Norman Welch, John Springer, Josh Sanders, Greg Giddings, Richard Welch, Zachary Welch, Gerry Broussard and Michael Bedgood.
