He was born in Lawrence County, Mississippi
Husband of S E Bolton
He enlisted on February 17, 1862, in Hemphill, Texas. On June 24, 1862, he was detailed to return to Sabine County, Texas to procure ammunition and report back for duty on July 14, 1862. The Company Muster Roll for July - August 1862 listed him as present / sick. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War after Confederate forces surrendered in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 26, 1865. He was paroled in Natchitoches, Louisiana on June 10, 1865.
