February 13, 1950 - July 6, 2016
Mr. Danny Derwood Sandifer, Sr., 66, left this Earth and stepped into Heaven on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 to live forever with his Lord and Savior. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Osborn. Officiating will be his son, Rev. Danny Sandifer, Jr. of Calvary Baptist Church of Brownsboro, TX. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Mr. Sandifer was a native of Shreveport, LA, born on February 13, 1950 and a resident of DeBerry, TX for 30 years. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in 1968, where he was a proud member of the 4-H Club. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Rambin Sandifer, on December 8, 1972 and had 43 great years together. He worked 36 years in the Oil and Gas Industry. Mr. Sandifer was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather (Papa). He was kind-hearted and was willing to do anything to help those in need.
Mr. Sandifer was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rambin Sandifer; his mother, Mable Dooly Sandifer; and his father, Anthony Derwood Sandifer. He is survived his daughter, Lisa Sandifer, of Shreveport, LA; son, Danny Sandifer, Jr. and wife, Janet; and granddaughter, Sarah Sandifer, all of Brownsboro, TX. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Davidson, of Shreveport, LA and Kathy Allen and husband, Ray, of Oil City, LA; and a brother, Dewayne Sandifer, Sr. and wife, Thelma, of Keithville, LA.
Pallbearers will be Rusty King, Randall King, Dewayne Sandifer, Jr., Pat Dooly, Mike Dooly and Steve Dooly.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Dooly, Dan Dooly and Rodney Dooly.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to many unnamed caregivers and physicians for their compassion.
