He enlisted Sept. 29, 1861 at Camp Moore, Louisiana. Was promoted from Private to 4th Sergeant, September 1, 1862. Was wounded at Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia, September 20, 1863. Absent without leave since March 10, 1865, 3rd Sergeant reduced to ranks, order General Gibson, April 25, 1865.
