Mrs. Polly Dunahoe Lunebring, 89, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Carl Rhoads of First Methodist Church of Shreveport.
Polly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Herman "Luny" Lunebring, parents, Perry and Maude Reeves Dunahoe, twin brothers Asa and Tracy Dunahoe, sister Mary Helen Young, and great granddaughter Brooke Reeves.
Polly was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of family, her generous, caring, and fun-loving personality, her unsurpassed cooking skill, her beautiful gardening, her love and compassion for animals, and her strength and independent spirit. She loved nothing better than gathering family and friends for a day at the lake, a fish-fry, and lots of laughter.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Robert "Bob" Sasser and beloved daughter-in-law Carolyn, daughter Paula Lunebring, granddaughters Debbie Cowart, Pam Aaron, and Angela Wolf, great granddaughters Jennifer Dunman, Caroline Niette, and Abigail Wolf, great great grandchildren Anna Marie Cowart and Walker Dunman, and loving nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wen Lui for his love and care.
