SHREVEPORT, LA – Parker Tate Cowan, 17, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with a vigil service following at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Celebrating the mass will be Father Phil Michiels and Deacon Homer Tucker of St. Elizabeth where Parker was an active member. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Parker was born February 14, 1997 in Shreveport where he was a lifelong resident. Parker was passionate about writing, music, video games and his love of animals. Parker dreamed of being a veterinarian. Parker was a shining light to his family and all who were fortunate to have known him. Parker brought love, laughter and joy to everyone with his infectious smile, endless jokes and his readiness to always give anyone a huge hug.
Parker was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Erwin; and his paternal grandfather, Jim Cowan.
Parker is survived by his mom and dad who adored him, Brandy and Linden Adams; father and step-mother, Chris and Jenny Cowan; his big brother, Austin Cowan, twin brother, Connor Cowan, little sister, Carolanne Adams, and his little brother, Wyatt Cowan; maternal grandfather, Charles Erwin; paternal grandmother, Janette Miller; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, a host of friends, especially his Aunt Kelly Quimby, who loved him like her own.
Pallbearers will be Austin Cowan, Michael Terry, Michael and Patrick Sullivan, Caleb Carter and Tony Fyke.
The family requests that memorials be made to Petsavers, 4380 Noyes Drive, Shreveport, LA 71119, to honor Parker’s immense love of animals.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have given their love and support at this time, especially their family at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, as well as those in Parker’s life who never gave up on him and always loved him unconditionally.
