September 20, 1935 - November 21, 2013
GREENWOOD, LA -Funeral services celebrating the life of Shelton D. Simpson, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Rev. Joe Bob Alexander will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the funeral home.
Shelton was born on September 20, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant, TX and passed away on November 21, 2013 in Shreveport. He was a resident of Greenwood and owner and operator of Simpson Pools and Spas. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed camping and hunting, but most of all he loved spoiling his grandchildren. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Allie Simpson and brother, Bob Simpson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Wanda Simpson; sons, Mike Simpson and wife, Tracy, Mark Simpson and wife, Melody; daughter, Sandy Simpson Jeter and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Joshua, Hilary, and Malory Jeter, Shea, Shelby and Seth Simpson.
Honoring Shelton as pallbearers will be Kenny Canatella, Johnny Byrd, Tommy Kelpin, Johnny Canatella, Linc Spring and Chris Cassidy.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Progressive Care Center and WK Cancer Center and Doctors James Smith, Krishna Singh and Joyce Feagin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis, TN, 38101-9908.
