Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. in the chapel.

Joseph was born February 1, 1968 in Shreveport, LA, and passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018 after a courageous four year battle with cancer.

Jody spent his childhood in Shreveport, LA. After graduation, he moved to Pineville LA, where he made many friends over the years. Jody was kind and compassionate. He will be remembered fondly for his quick wit and sharp memory. His knowledge of dates and sports statistics, especially about his favorite team the New England Patriots, was awesome. He will be truly missed by his neighbors and friends at Pinehaven Place. While Jody bore many crosses in life without complaint, we are comforted knowing he is finally at peace and reunited with his parents.

The family would like to give special thanks to Shearon Decker, who cared for Jody with love, compassion and dignity for over 17 years. Also thanks to Dr. Abi-Rached and his caring staff at Hematology Oncology Life Center, the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, and the staff at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home.

Jody was preceded in death by his parents, Stena and Johnny Tuminello. He is survived by his sister, Tina McGill and her husband Casey; his nieces Grace Anne and Sadie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Honoring Joseph as pallbearers will be his cousins Michael Provenza, Dr. Mark Provenza, and Joseph Paul DiStefano.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Extra Mile, PO Box 3178, Pineville, LA 71361.
