James "Jimbo" Patrick Bodenheimer, Jr, born November 19, 1968 in New Orleans, died Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the son of James Patrick Bodenheimer, Sr and Sheila Roger Durocher.
He graduated from Jesuit High School and Louisiana Tech University. Jimbo was an active member of A A and the Highland Club and served as a deacon at Kings Highway Christian Church. Jimbo loved stopping to smell the roses and living each day to the fullest. As a man of faith he lived to help others, especially those struggling with alcoholism, drug addiction, or mental illness. His message was clear: never give up.
A master at dominoes, backgammon, and cards, Jimbo enjoyed playing games with family and friends. He began each of his days on his front porch, feeding birds and other animals that found a home in his yard. Other passions included fishing and metal detecting. Jimbo cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by parents and uncle Wallace Roger, Jr.
Jimbo is survived by sisters Rebecca Beach, of Kingsport, Tennesse and Christine Bodenheimer, of Seattle, Washington; aunts Laura Bodenheimer, of Houston, Texas, Ann Fleming of Itasca, Illinois and Elizabeth (Don) Lewis of Beaufort, South Carolina; and uncles Robert (Cathy) Roger, of Broussard, Louisiana, Barry Roger, of Porter, Texas, Greg (Mary) Roger, of Thibodaux, Louisiana and Gerard (Leah) Roger, of Abbeville, Louisiana. He is also survived by more than 20 nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 AM at Kings Highway Christian Church in Shreveport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, Kings Highway Christian Church; St Joseph's Catholic Church or a charity of your choosing.
