Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Hamilton "Ham" Alleman, age 83, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at his residence in Carencro. Mr. Alleman's body was donated to science per his request.
Pastor David Baudoin, associate pastor of Crossroads Church of Lafayette, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Alleman was a native of Lafayette and had been a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He retired with the City of Lafayette in 1987 after 28 years of service. He was more recently employed with Limousines Ltd of Lafayette for 15 years. Mr. Alleman was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golf player and was a member of C'est La Vie Camping Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Brunella "Judy" Chiasson Alleman of Carencro; one daughter, Mikie Alleman Stoute of Carencro; a special nephew who he loved as his own, Kenny Alleman and wife, Vicky, of Rayne; two grandchildren, Jason Stoute and wife, Cajun, and Chris Stoute and wife, Kuristen; five great grandchildren, Ashton Stoute, Layne Stoute, Hayden Stoute, Kaylee Stoute and Kayla Alleman; and one brother, Johnny Alleman and wife, Rosie, of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Alleman, Jr. and the former Felicenne Richard; and three brothers, Dennis Alleman, Whitfield Alleman and Edieu Alleman.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice Compassus for all their loving care especially his nurses, Liz and Beth.
