LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Linda M. Smith, age 61, the former Linda M. Trahan, who passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. Deacon Bryne Winn will be officiating at the services.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Mire. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, John Smith of Church Point; three sons, Johnny Lee Smith, Joey James Smith and his wife, Piper, and Jay Smith; two daughters, Starla Smith and Belinda Smith all of Mire; one brother, Donald Trahan and his wife, Belinda; three sisters, Julia Moore, Betty Guidry and Cheryl Miller; fifteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Janus Trahan and the former Zuella Mae Aucoin; five brothers, Howard Trahan, Ernest Trahan, Paul Trahan, Rodney Trahan and Hubert Trahan; and two sisters, Shirley Richardson and Barbara Savoie.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
