Mausoleum
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for James C. Falls, 86, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Reverend Michael Keith Landry, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Velma Vincent Falls; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Crawford; one son, James Andy Falls and his wife, Ulrike; one sister, Coneda Weatherly; one brother, Robert Andrew Falls and his wife, Jessica; two grandchildren, Elisha James Falls and his wife, Jessica and David Travasos and his wife, Jamie; and six great grandchildren, Austin James Falls, Riley Falls, and Bryson, Charles, John Paul and Michael Travasos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Lydia Black Falls; one son, Keith Falls; three brothers; four sisters; and one grandson, Justin Crawford.
A native of Aplin, Arkansas and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Falls was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He worked in oilfield sales as a once co-owner of Coastline Equipment and part owner of Universal Sales and Service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Elisha James Falls, David Travasos, Lee Crawford, Mike Carmichael, Bill Carmichael and Joel Carmichael.
A Rosary will be recited by Glenn Faul on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
