CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at a time pending. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Chad Joseph Bourgoyne, age 59, who passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.
Mr. Bourgoyne was a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Lafayette for many years. He was employed at Frank's Casing Crew as a hammer operator for 21 years. He also worked for the State of LA Highway Department as a dispatcher. Mr. Bourgoyne was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, the former Maxine Courville, of Carencro; one son, Christopher Bourgoyne and wife, Amanda Moore Bourgoyne of New Iberia; one daughter, Lori Bourgoyne of Carencro; two sisters, Pamela Bourgoyne of Gonzales and Donna Weatherford of Plaquemine; and three grandchildren, Corey Bourgoyne, Michael Bourgoyne and Garrett Bourgoyne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sullivan Bourgoyne and the former Louella Marie Tullier, both natives of Plaquemine; one son, Curtis Bourgoyne; and three brothers, John Bourgoyne, James Bourgoyne and Michael Bourgoyne.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bourgoyne, Jody Courville, Brian Sonnier, Michael Courville, Brent Courville and Wayne Zerangue. Honorary pallbearers will be his three grandsons.
