View Memorial Tribute Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008, at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Wesley Michael Fuqua, age 57, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, two miles past the I 10 and university exit going north, 2300 N. University, Lafayette, LA. Frank Rochel will conduct the funeral services. Vocalists, Connie Collins, Mary Kay Guidry and Kelly Wilson, accompanied by Charlie Reese, will sing "Amazing Grace", "I Don't Know Much, But I Know I Love You" and "Into The Mystic" for the services. Survivors include his wife, Renee C. Daniel of Lafayette; two sons, Christopher Fuqua and John Wesley Fuqua; two stepsons, Joshua Patin, Zachariah Flemming; three grandchildren, Ally Fuqua, Sybil Hernandez and Logan Patin; parents, Wesley H. and Friedl Kraus Fuqua; and two brothers, Kenneth Roy Fuqua and Werner (Bob) Fuqua.A native of Buffalo, New York and a resident of Lafayette for 30 years, Wesley Michael Fuqua graduated from Bishop Turner High School in Buffalo, New York, attended Garland County Community College in Arkansas and later became a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in New Iberia, Louisiana. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy Reserve and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Christian Fellowship Church in Brookside, AK, the Share the Light Foundation, the WWII Museum Foundation in New Orleans, LA and supported the LA Chapter of the American Red Cross and Hospice of Acadiana. Wesley Fuqua enjoyed playing golf and was an avid football and baseball fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Fuqua will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.Pallbearers will be Terry Arnoult, Brian Wyble, Dwayne Dartez, Carey Blanchard, Minge Dixey, and John Wesley Fuqua.Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Patin, Tommy Paramour, Dave Monroe and John Cuccia.The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Donations can be made directly to the family to defer funeral expenses.
