Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Daryll J Lajaunie, Sr, 72, who passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the services. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation hours will be observed Monday, April 5, 2021 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed Monday at 11:30 am.

Daryll is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathleen Braquet Lajaunie of Carencro; daughter Yevette Marie Lajaunie Brasseaux and husband Wayne Carroll of Carencro; son Daryll James Lajaunie, Jr and wife Tiffany Rebardi Lajaunie of Carencro; grand children, Dylan James Lajaunie, Cameron Jude Lajaunie, Bennett Joseph Lajaunie and Addison Vaughn; sister Sheila L Broussard and husband Billy of Carencro; and sister-in-law, Ramona Lajaunie of Scott.

He was preceded in death by parents, Leroy and Heloise Lajaunie; grandson, Wyatt James Brasseaux; and brother John Edwin Lajaunie.

Daryll is a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He went on to work for Southern Pacific Railroad, where he retired after over 30 years of employment. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Pallbearers will be Daryll Lajaunie, Jr, Wayne Brasseaux, Jeremy Braquet, Dylan Lajaunie, David Latour, and Allen Latour.

Walters Funeral Home, (337) 706-8941, 2424 North University Avenue in Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
