A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Leo The Great Church for Cynthia C. LeBlanc, 65, who passed away August 24, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center. The Very Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, pastor of St. Leo The Great, will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Tiffany Aucoin and Lauren Delahoussaye; gift bearers, Brayden Venable, Olivia Hanks, and Marion Hanks. Eulogies will be given by Christie Hanks and Ashlyn Dore. Interment will follow the mass in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Michael LeBlanc of Lafayette; two daughters, Dodie (Shane) Venable of Carencro and Christie (John) Hanks of Sunset; one sister, Linda Stanley of Abbeville; one brother, Gilbert Comeaux of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Gage Venable, Ashlyn Dore, Alyssa Dore, Brant Hanks, Brayden Venable, Olivia Hanks, Brycen Venable, and Marion Hanks; and one great grandson, Ryker Ohlemacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Annie Mae Hebert and Lenette Comeaux.
Cynthia was a native of Abbeville and resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She was employed as the athletic director at St. Leo-Seton Catholic School for many years, and retired as office manager from De La Salle Christian Brothers. She was a parishioner at St. Leo The Great Church and a member of the American Legion Post 241 Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered by her strong faith and volunteerism. She loved all and was loved by all.
Pallbearers will be John Hanks, Shane Venable, Brant Hanks, Brian Stanley, Lee Stanley and Troy Adams. Honorary pallbearers include Brayden Venable, Brycen Venable, Tony Neal and Bob Lege.
The family requests that visitation be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm; and resume Thursday morning at 8:00 am - 1:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
The family extends its deepest thanks to the doctors and staff at Cancer Center of Acadiana and Lafayette General Medical Center, especially Dr. Federico Del Toro and his wife Diana for their compassion and service during Cynthia's illness.
