A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm in Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Henry McFarlain, Sr, 71, who passed away Friday, March 4, 2016. The Reverend Hampton Davis, Pastor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, will officiate the funeral ceremony. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anne McFarlain of Lafayette; sons H Lee McFarlain, Jr and wife Heather of Missouri City, Texas and C William McFarlain and wife Jennifer of Lafayette; sisters Pearl Hamilton and husband Bill of Centralia, Illinois and Kathryn Bouley of Lafayette; brothers Francis McFarlain of Lake Charles, Joseph McFarlain and wife Peggy of Duson and Jerry McFarlain and wife Diane of Jennings; grandchildren Peyton McFarlain, Paige McFarlain, William McFarlain and Charles McFarlain.
He is preceded in death by parents Rosa and Vennis McFarlain, Sr; brothers, Vennis McFarlain, Jr and Chester McFarlain; sister-in-law, Lyndol McFarlain; and brother-in-law Irving Bouley.
Mr McFarlain was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Pallbearers are C William McFarlain, Randy Bouley, Derek McFarlain, Kelly McFarlain, Jerry McFarlain and Ronnie Venable. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Andrus, Hal Wilson, William Lee McFarlain, Charles McFarlain, Clint Willis and Perry Willis, Jr.
Visitation hours will be observed on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in memory of Henry McFarlain.
