LAFAYETTE - Service times are pending for Werlyn Simon, 76, who passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, June 4, 2016.

Survivors include sons Jody Simon and significant other Margo Mondragon, Wade Simon and wife Melissa Borne Simon and Cory Simon and wife Lacee Grivat Simon; grandchildren Elizabeth Simon Savant, Jonathan Simon, Nicholai Simon, Catherine Simon and Landon Simon; great-granddaughter Aubrey Savant; brother-in-law Darrell Guidry and wife Billie and nieces Linnette Guidry Willeford and Brandy Guidry Scantlin.

He was preceded in death by wife Glenda Mouton Simon; son Toby Jude Simon; daughter Celeste Marie Simon; and parents Alcide Simon and Elta "Teta" Mattieu Simon.

Werlyn served his country in the United States Army, and was a long time employee of Sears, until his retirement.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Guidry, Cade Savant, Cory Simon, Jody Simon, Jonathan Simon, and Wade Simon. Honorary pallbearer is Landon Simon.

Visitation hours will be observed Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Walters Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7:00 pm Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 8:00 am until time of service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center and Hospice of Acadiana for their great care.
