“BoBoy” passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 12:45 p.m. at Baton Rouge General Mid-City at the age of 80. He was a resident of Port Allen and native of Brusly. He served 4 years in U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus Council #2875 for 51 years. Visiting will be Monday, Jan 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Monsignor Robert Berggreen. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly with full military honors. “BoBoy” is survived by his two sisters, Marvel M. “Moe” Hebert of Ventress, Betsy H. Simpson Gosserand and husband Ellis of Port Allen; one brother, L.J. Hebert Jr. and wife Pat of Palm Desert, CA; a sister-in-law, Barbara Mullican Hebert of Port Allen and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence J. “Babe” and Rita Mouch Hebert; sister, Beverly Hebert Hobbins; brother, Gordon N. Hebert. “BoBoy” was an avid reader who enjoyed reading old Western novels. He was a fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ava & Jacob Saucier Holy Family School Memorial Scholarship Fund.
