Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Damiyon Joseph Sonnier, 22, who died May 28, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Services will be conducted by Deacon Soignier.

Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Consuella Alexander of Lafayette, LA; his father, Ray Anthony Sonnier, Sr. of Breaux Bridge, LA; son, Aydden Sonnier of Lafayette, LA; three sisters, Ethel Alexander (Carlo), Gicola Alexander (Shorone), Shermaine Sonnier (Eric), all of Lafayette, LA; three brothers, Anthony Alexander (Anita), Ray Anthony Sonnier (Markey), Willie Babin, all of Lafayette, LA; Godparents, Dora Babin of Breaux Bridge, LA and Willie Babineaux of Lafayette, LA; stepfather, Donald Smith of Lafayette, LA; six nieces; fourteen nephews; his son’s mother, Solmari Santiago and a host of aunts, uncles, friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Jessie and Mary Eve Alexander; paternal grandparents, John Sonnier Sr. and Edna Mae Roberts; maternal great grandmother, Marie Rose Castille; aunt, Judy Aleander; uncle, Sherman Alexander and cousin, Ahniiya Martinez.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m.
