Louis "Bootsie" A Mouch, Jr

A resident of Addis and native of Brusly, he died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 5:30 pm at his home surrounded by his family. He was 80. Visiting at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly Wednesday January 27,9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm, celebrated by the Reverend Matthew Dupre. Interment in the church cemetery. Louis Mouch was a retired dairy farmer. He was actively involved in all ministries of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, serving as Eucharist minister and usher. He served as captain of his group at Manersa for more than 49 years. He was a lifelong supporter and first inductee into the 4-H Hall of Fame for their 100 year anniversary; lifelong member and past president of the West Baton Rouge/Iberville Parish Cattlemen’s Association; member and past president of the Brusly Lions Club; member of the Knights of Columbus 10744; and American Legion 160 and VFW. He received a certificate of appreciation for 50 years of service to the USDA Farm Services. He was a board member and past president of Farm Bureau Association; and president of West Baton Rouge Parish Fair Association. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Phillips Mouch of Addis; three daughters, Cindy Crochet and special friend, Tom Owens, of Addis, Susan Landry and husband Gary, of White Castle, Janice Windham and husband, John, of Addis; three sons, Louis A Mouch, III and wife Ruth, Kenneth Mouch and wife Vicki and Wayne Mouch and wife Debbie, all of Addis; sister, Elsie Perrero of Baker; brothers Roy Mouch and wife Katherine of Addis, John Mouch and wife Marie of Port Allen; grandchildren Cory Crochet and wife Allison, Kristi Rabalais and husband Brian, Jeremy Mouch, Kayla Mouch, Britani Bonadona and husband Brian, Brady Mouch, Kristina Mouch, Dustin Landry and wife Jennifer, Ponch Landry, Nicole Mouch, Hunter Mouch and wife Jessica, Jessica Windham, Jacob Windham and Jennifer Windham, Dylan White and wife Rachel, Emily White, Lacy McGlothlin and husband Chad, Keri Landry and Micah Landry and great-grand -children Carson and Avery Crochet, Ryder and Beau Rabalais, Calise and Cinclare Landry, Alexis and Savannah McGlothin. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Preceded in death by parents Louis A Mouch Sr and Gladys Flatau Mouch; sisters Shirley Acosta and Doris Millet; and son-in-law Clint Crochet. Special thanks to St Joseph Hospice, especially Jodi Breaux, Jeremy, Todd and Cynthia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St John the Baptist Building Fund and St Jude Children’s Hospital.
