He enlisted August 1, 1864 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War after the Confederate States Army surrendered in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 26, 1865. He was paroled in Natchitoches, Louisiana on June 20, 1865.
