He enlisted May 14, 1862 in Many, Louisiana. The 11th Regiment Louisiana Infantry was consolidated with the Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry and the 16th Battalion Louisiana Infantry on November 3, 1863, to form the Consolidated Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry.
