Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015, at 10:00 AM in First United Methodist Church in Lafayette, for Eno J Bares, 92, who passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be held in the Lafayette Protestant Cemetery. Reverend Mark Benge, Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.

Mr Bares was a native of Vermilion Parish and graduated from Erath High School. He attended SLI, married Dale Oxford in 1947 and became a resident of Lafayette in 1949. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy Seabees during World War II in New Caledonia. Mr Bares worked for All American Life Insurance Company until 1964, and later owned J Maxime Roy Insurance. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lafayette and a Charter member of Oakbourne Country Club. Mr Bares was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons Wendell Bares of Lafayette, Wymon Bares and wife Danette of Lafayette, Rev Weldon Bares of Lake Charles, Warren Bares of Lafayette and Wayne Bares and wife Carole of Lafayette; grandchildren Morgan Bares, Jacob Bares, Madeline Bares, Annie Bares and Nicholas Bares; brother Emery Bares and wife Lou; sister Agnes Richard; and sister-in-law, Betty Bares.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Dale Oxford Bares; parents John and Oneida Leblanc Bares; brothers Emmett Bares and wife Grace and Allen Bares and brother-in-law, Cleveland Richard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be his sons along with Jacob and Nicholas Bares.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 703 Lee Ave, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501 or the Lafayette Protestant Cemetery, 407 Girard Park Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.
