Dorothy (Dot) Gold Kaplan was born July 28, 1930 and passed away July 15, 2016. Her family will honor her in a memorial service on Tuesday, July 19 at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary at B'Nai Zion. Officiating will be Rabbi Dr. Jana DeBenedetti.
Dot was a member of B'Nai Zion, and active member of the Sisterhood. Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Dot is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Harold Kaplan, her parents, Joseph and Bertha Gold, and brother Jack Gold. She is survived by her son, Mark Kaplan of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Betsy Beall and husband, Darold of Plano, TX; grandson, Jeffrey Bender, wife Chelsea, and great grandson, Elijah of Baton Rouge, LA; and granddaughter Ashley Bender and husband, Aaron Anderson of Denton, TX.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care of the staff and caretakers at The Oaks North Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the B'Nai Zion Sisterhood in her memory.
