He was initially assigned to Company D 24 Regiment Louisiana Infantry, but later combined with the Consolidate Crescent Regiment. His name appeared on a roll of Prisoners of War after the Confederate States Army was surrendered at New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 26, 1865. He was paroled in Alexandria, Louisiana, on June 15, 1865.
