Edward “Loney Baby” Richardson transitioned from this life and entered into eternal rest at the age of 84 on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 12:30 pm peacefully at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center. Edward “Loney Baby” Richardson was born to the late Mattie Richardson on October 26, 1932 in Vidalia, Louisiana. He was educated in Concordia Parish schools until his departure to the US Army. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. Edward was married to Maxine Branch Richardson and from this union six children were born; Darryl Anthony, Kevin Andre, Aaron Charles, Bryan Joseph, Edra Jenine and Dechaune Chenelle Richardson. He worked for Bayou Rigging as a Shipping Foreman and later as a proprietor with Ackel Properties. Preceded in death by mother Mattie Richardson, brothers Reverend Murphy Bowman and Robert Johnson, grandchildren Aaron Charles Richardson, Jr and Channing Yates Milligan, a host of uncles, aunts and relatives. He leaves his memory to his precious wife Maxine Branch Richardson, sons and daughters Darryl (Tonya) Richardson, Kevin (Mary) Richardson, Aaron Richardson, Bryan (Michelle) Richardson, Jeremy “Pookie” Richardson, Edra, and Dechaune Richardson. Cherished in love are 19 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, family and friends. All employees of the City of New Orleans, United Parcel Service, VA Medical Center, NTB Tire Kingdom, Jefferson Parish School System, River Oaks Hospital, all neighboring churches, pastors, members and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life Service Monday, August 28, 2017 10:00 am at The Life Center Cathedral, 2100 Ames Blvd Marrero, Louisiana 70072. Bishop J Douglas Wiley-Taylor officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday August 29, 2017 for 11:00 am at Vidalia Cemetery, 900 Riverside Road, Vidalia, Louisiana 71373. A special thanks to the Medical doctors at Tulane Hospital, Passages Hospice and Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center.
