Funeral services for Gladys M Hawkins, 77 of Ferriday, Louisiana will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00am from the Greater Mt Sinai Baptist Church in Natchez, Mississippi under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery in Vidalia, Louisiana with Pastor Eddie Schiele officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.
Mrs Hawkins, daughter of John and Mary Carter Hawkins was born in Natchez, Mississippi and died at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was a retired teacher for the Concordia Parish School System.
She is survived by son Anthony Hawkins and wife Lana of Ferriday; daughter Trinona Phenix of Monroe, Louisiana; sisters Rita Battle and Madeehah "Melba" Muhammad both of Chicago, Illinios.
Also five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a special friend William "Tiny" Bradsaw of Chicago. And numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
