Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Laure Pigron Gautreaux, 77, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Reverend Thomas Habetz, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include two daughters, Ravenna Scruggs and her husband Roger and Rita Gautreaux; two sons, Vincent Gautreaux and Alphonse "Al" Gautreaux and his wife Phyllis; one son-in-law, Raymond Gaudet; five grandchildren, Sean Griggs, Will Griggs, Ravine Gautreaux, Robin Wike Dismore and Michael Wike; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters, Aline Broussard, Mazie Barthe, Erma Elias and Edna Pigron; and three brothers, Percy Pigron, Jimmy Pigron and Elie Pigron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edna Badon Pigron; two sons, Gerald Gautreaux and George Gautreaux; one daughter, Velma Gaudet; two sisters, Estelle Pigron and Rita Pigron; one brother, Whitney Pigron; one grandson, Cory Gautreaux; and one granddaughter, Amy Griggs.
A native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette most of her life, she will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Family members will serve as Pallbearers.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
