Lafayette- Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Irene Jones Narcisse, who died December 18, 2016 at her residence with family at her bedside.
Services will be conducted by Father Leon Ngandu, SVD.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
She is survived by her eight (8) children: three (3) boys, Joseph (Effie) Narcisse, Ernest Narcisse and Harold Narcisse all of Lafayette, LA; five (5) girls, Laura Narcisse (Oscar) Taylor of Beaumont, TX, Helen Narcisse, Emily Narcisse, Leona Faye Narcisse, all of Lafayette, LA and Linda Narcisse (Wayne) Davis of Beaumont, TX; two (2) sisters, Nola Gerard and Rose (Chester) Hulin both of Lafayette, LA; one (1) brother, Clarence Jones of Lafayette, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felecian and Mable Prejean Jones; three (3) brothers Dalton Jones, Clifton Jones and Joseph “Nurcie” Williams; five (5) sisters, Cecile Lawrence George, Hilda Foster, Catherine Anderson, Dorothy Fils, and Theresa Davis; one (1) son, Paul Narcisse; four (4) daughters, Anna Mae Batiste, Rose Narcisse, Mable Narcisse, and Laura B. Lindon; one (1) niece, Dorothy Davis-Lemelle; grandchildren, Raymond and Kenneth Batiste, Travis Lindon, Nathaniel Narcisse, Raymond Mouton, Jr., LaShawn Narcisse and three (3) great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
