Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church for John Lavale Jones, 45, who died March 16, 2017.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
John L. Jones was born to Beverly Ann Jones and John Arnold Laxey on May 9, 1971 in Houston, TX. He was a very giving and loving soul that was always willing to help anyone in need. His infectious smile touched so may that he came in contact with. He was the type of person that never held a grudge, he forgave you no matter the circumstances. He was a son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed.
He was a native of Houston, TX and a resident of Lafayette, LA. He was the owner of Prime Time John’s Mobile Detailing for a little over three years.
He is survived by his parents, John Arnold (JoAnn) Laxey who loved him wholeheartedly and unconditionally; companion, Katina Sinegal and her three daughters, Dominique and Brittani Sinegal and Destiny Jefferson, all of Lafayette, LA; his four daughters, Jewel Jackson and Johnette Jackson, both of Houston, TX, Jasmine Sinegal and Noah Zeno, both of Lafayette, LA; six sons, Johnlavel Edwards, Johntraven Edwards, Montel Davis, Jakale Sinegal, Josiah Sinegal, Jonah Sinegal, all of Lafayette, LA; 14 grandchildren; his six sisters, Minister Denise (Pastor Sedaric) Dinkens of Dallas, TX, Catrina Jones of Houston, TX, Damitra Lindon (Cory) St. Julien and Latonya Lindon “Lou” Henry, both of Lafayette, LA, Ashley Laxey of Breaux Bridge, LA and Aja Hart of Houston, TX; his three brothers, Kerry Jones, Arnold (Mary) Laxey, Courtney Roy, all of Lafayette, LA; grandmother, Rhutene Jones of Houston, TX; aunt, Cynthia Jones of Houston, TX; uncles, Anthony Jones, Michael (Joann) Jones, Dr. Aaron (Renee) Jones, Reginald (Margaret) Jones, all of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Ann Jones; paternal grandparents, Beverly Goodman Laxey and Peter Laxey, Sr.; maternal grandfather and nephew, George Pierre.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. James Baptist Church from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
