Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Syrie Funeral Home for Effie Mae Roy, 74, who died July 1, 2017

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Effie Mae Roy was born in Morrow, LA on September 13, 1942 to the late Cliff Roy and Pearl Smith Roy, both of Morrow, LA.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Roy of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Shawneece Rubin, Tra’von Simon and Brikki Simon, all of Lafayette, LA; two great grandchildren, Koen Rubin and Raymond Perry, Jr.; her companion, Mr. Cornelius “Hommie” Arnold, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; six sisters, Catherine Williams and Jennie Tubbs, both of Houston, TX, Glenda (Alfred) Taylor of Missouri City, TX, Gloria (Leonard) Spearman of Katy, TX, Maxine Garcia of Lancaster, Ca, Mary Pearl (Herman) Schultz of Los Angeles, CA; three brothers, Willie (Angela) Roy of Baton Rouge, LA, Kenneth Roy and John (Natalie) Roy, both of Lafayette, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Pearl Roy; three sisters, Bessie Roy Pullen, Inette Roy Fontenot and Helen Roy; nine brothers, Cecil Roy, Warren Roy, Robert C. Roy, Leo Roy, Lloyd Roy, Floyd Roy, Wilson Roy, Organ Roy and Steve Roy.

The family would like to give special thanks to Community Hospice and family and friends near and far.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Syrie Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
