Lafayette: Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lafayette.
Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery following the funeral.
Mary Louise Neville Washington was born to the late Paul Oren Jr. and Isabella Marie (Alfred) Neville in Lafayette, Louisiana on October 7, 1949.
For over 15 years, she worked in the Lafayette Parish School system in food service where she enjoyed two of her greatest passions - children and feeding others. Even after retirement, she went back into the schools through the Lafayette Council on Aging Foster Grandparent program, where she loved each and every one of "Momo's Grandbabies".
Mary was known in and around Lafayette as "Chicken", a nickname she loved dearly because it was given to her by her father for picking at her food. She had a laugh that was undeniable and a soul that was always dancing. She never met a stranger, loved every child she met and if she could take them home with her, she would. Every animal had a home and food to eat. If you needed it, she would give you her last and always cooked so that she had a couple of extra plates.
To know her, was to love her. She loved life and was a caring person beyond measure. She departed this earthly journey on Monday, January 22, 2018.
She is preceded in death by her: (parents) Paul Jr. and Isabella (Alfred) Neville & (husband) Harold Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories: (children) Jamar Neville, Nakia Gantt (Bakori), Keith Neville (Marvelle), Cherie Neville, Paula Felix, Miranda Darby (Gary) Temeaka Brooks, Rachel Brown-Thornton (Dustin); (siblings) Paul Neville, Jr. (Lois), Clifton Neville, Sr. (Loubertha) and Edward Neville; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 8:00AM to 9:45AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lafayette.
