Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Alton Joseph O’Neil, Sr, 62, who died January 7, 2016 at University Hospital & Clinics. Services will be conducted by Fr Chien Dinh, SVD. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jean Cormier O’Neil; sons Alton (Margo) O’Neil, Jr, Anthony (Paula) O’Neil; daughter Jessica O’Neil; brothers George (Josephine) O’Neil, Sr, Charles (Claudette) O’Neil, Sr, Nathan O’Neil, Sr and Paul (Verna) O’Neil; sisters Rose O’Neil, Margaret (Johnny) Dawson, Rita (Lester) Alfred, Mary (Chester) Chevalier, Phyllis Laxey; grandchildren Altasia O’Neil, Savannah Moffett, Anecia O’Neil, Ta’mia Ford, Brenisha O’Neil and Corell Batiste; sisters-in-law Mildred (Allen) White, Elvina Morrison, Willie Mae Williams; brother-in-law, Willis Cormier and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Alton was preceded in death by parents George and Agnes O’Neil; brothers Roger, James, Harold and Earl O’Neil; sister Pearl O’Neil; maternal and paternal grandparents; nephew Nathan O’Neil, Jr and niece Latonya Elaire.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Syrie Funeral Home from 9:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 am.
