A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Mr. John R. Griffin, 58. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Lambert will be the celebrant.
A resident of Lafayette, Mr. Griffin passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at his home.
He leaves to cherish his fond memory, his wife, Judy Gary Griffin of Lafayette, LA; one daughter, Katina (Dorian) Walker of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Kendrea Gary, DeAndre Walker, Derrick Walker; one great-granddaughter, Keemora Gary; five sisters, Virella Dell Francis, Vickie Ann Griffin(Howard), Vivian Griffin(Horace), Dosella Griffin(Gilbert) and Melinda Brown all of Lafayette, LA; father-in-law, Melvin Gary; sisters-in-law, Dianne (Linton) Borel of Cecelia, LA, Rebecca (Sam)McGuire, Stella (Mike)Henry, Vickie (Ronnie) Wiggins all of Lafayette, LA; brothers-in-law, Lee Allen (Chinita)Gary, Ricky Gary and Mark Gary all of Lafayette, LA; best friend Joseph “Jess” (Rosella) Borel , caregiver, Rudelle Angelle of Lafayette, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Griffin, Jr.; his parents, Calvin Griffin, Sr. and Mary Carmouche Griffin; one brother Calvin Griffin, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Gary; brother-in-law Calvin Francis; and his nephew, Jeremy Griffin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Kinchen Funeral Home from 7:00am-10:30am.
