Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Monday March 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Progressive Baptist Church for Phillip Ray Cooper Sr., 56, who died Monday February 25, 2013 at his place of residence.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Lloyd Joiner, Jr.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving companion of over 30 years, Mardrie Cooper of Lafayette, LA; his sons, Phillip Ray Cooper Jr. of Austin, TX, Reginald Ray Cooper (Forqueetta) of Carencro, LA; his daughters, Amanda Deshotel (Charles “Tot”) of Sour Lake, TX, Melody Cooper and Moriah Cooper of Lafayette, LA; his godchildren, Christina Cooper of Lafayette, LA and Demetria Young of Houston, TX; his brothers, Willie Cooper (Kathleen), Billy Cooper, Carlos Cooper of Lafayette, LA; his sisters, Vera Faye Davis (Terry Sr.) of Crowley, LA, Lillie Mae Nelms (Claude) of Woodlands TX, Lou Ann Thomas (Johnny) of Springs, TX, Yvonne Savoy of Nome, TX, Roxanne Gloston (Rev. Peter Sr.) of Sour Lake, TX, Serena Cooper of Houston, TX, Wanda Cooper of Crowley, LA; eight grandchildren Amarion Cooper, Ariel Cooper, Tressa Smith, Tarrance Deshotel, Tateyana Deshotel, Alexas Bender, Makayla Dugas, Jada Cooper, Nyla Cooper, Reginald Ray Cooper Jr., and D’vante Mouton; sister and brothers-in law, Mary Lee Brown (Roy), Charles Landry Sr. (Audrey), and Lloyd Landry (Tam) and a host of nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Lee Cooper (Warfield) and Cornelius Columbus Cooper; his sister Vernell Payne; his uncle, Lonny Jones and his grandparents, Reverend Will & Alma Jones; his mother-in-law, Mary Ezola Landry; sisters and brothers in law, Paul Landry, Roy Landry Sr., Mildred Landry, Mary Ezola Thibodeaux (Eddie).
