Lafayette – A celebration of life will be conducted for Linda Ann George Darby, 63, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday 24, 2021 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
Reverend Greg Randell will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A resident of Lafayette, LA., Linda transitioned from Earth to eternity on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She leaves in God’s care, two daughters, Swandalyn Marie Darby of Lafayette, LA, Kimberly Marie Darby Holman (Guy) of Dallas, TX; two sons, Dr. Jeffery Joseph Darby, Jr., and Corey Joseph Darby, both of Lafayette, LA; one brother, Gilbert George, Jr. (Patricia) of New Iberia, LA; four sisters, Theresa Porter of Carencro, LA, Laura Bell George, Mary Delores Ledet, and Anna Rose George of New Iberia, LA; three grandchildren, Sa’Rell Danae Barnes, Jalen Jermaine Barnes, and Guylah Reign Holman; four godchildren, John Edward George of Abbeville, LA., Robert P. Benoit, Jr., of Leonville, LA., Jeremy N. Benoit “JB Saxx” and Brittney Nicole Benoit, both of Lafayette, LA.; a special cousin, Diane George Isaac of Maricopa, Arizona who she was like a big sister to, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She will join in Glory, her husband, Jeffery George Darby, Sr.; her parents, Gilbert George, Sr. and Eunice Labbe George; six sisters, Gertie Mae George Thomas, Mary Louise George Chaisson, Genella “Gene” George Papillion, Mary Evelyn George, Eunice Marie George and Sylvia “Sally” George Hopes; one brother, Alvin George, Sr.; mother-in-law, Pastor Joyce Harrison Darby; father-in-law, Alexander Darby, one granddaughter, Guya Marie Holman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
