LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries, Inc. for Nelson "Big Daddy" Broussard, Jr., 71, who died May 17, 2012 at his residence.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Joseph Carmouche.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Babineaux Broussard; his two sons, Shawnta' "Mecco" Babineaux and Joshua Kinta Broussard, all of Lafayette; one daughter, Shawntie Broussard of California; one sister, Celestine Broussard of Ridge; one brother, Adam Lee Broussard of Ridge; two grandchildren, Briana Babineaux and Jada Broussard; mother-in-law, Agnes Babineaux; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Singleton and Joyce Ozene (Perry); one nephew, Gilbert Leopaul and one niece, Jennifer Broussard of Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Broussard and Melina Aker Broussard; his brother, Sidney Joseph Broussard and sister, Berdell Broussard Thibeaux.
