Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for MSGT Donald R Charles, 58, who died October 17, 2012 at Tulane Hospital in New Orleans, LA.
Services will be conducted by Fr Rofinus Jas, SVD
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Christopher Charles (Shameka) and Jonathan Charles (Brithney); mother of his children, Nora Gardner (Ron); mother Gustavia Dugas Noel (Robert); sister Wanda “Ginger” Charles (Donald); brother Richard Charles; grandchildren, Carli Charles and Kaynon Noel; nieces Jaqueta Taylor (Damien) and Tricia Angelle; nephews Donald Taylor, Jr and Richard Angelle; great nephews Rashard Angelle, Jamien Guidry and Jayen Taylor; great niece, Briana Angelle; aunts Gertrude Charles, Mary Hilda Gabriel, Majorie Jones (William), Edna Benjamin and Dora Zenon (Arthur) and a host of cousins and good friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Norris Charles; brothers, Victor Charles and Norris Charles Porter; paternal grandparents Sandis Charles and Hilda Johnson Charles; maternal grandparents Bertha Prejean Zeno and Lenny Dugas; aunts Edmonia Lemon, Elnora Dugas, Mable Noel and Grace Charles; uncles, Irving Charles and Calvin Dugas; niece Lakeisha Charles.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am.
