Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Raymond Joseph Christian, 63, who died July 21, 2014 at home in Lafayette, LA.
Services will be conducted by Fr. Lambert Lein, SVD.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
His is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda Sampy Christian; four sisters, Mary Alice (James) Frank, Genita (Charles) Lofton, Brenda (Jason) Porter, Rita Christian, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Charles Christian and Rickey (Diane) Christian of Breaux Bridge; four Godchildren, John Frank of Houston, TX, Betty Jo Lofton, Trane Boudreaux and Landon Hudson of Lafayette; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sampy; sister-in-law, Martha Peltier and brother-in-law, Hiram Sampy, Jr. of Carencro and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Cecelia Guidry Christian; sister, Betty Christian; three nephews, Charles Solomon, Marcus Senegal and Vincent Jamel Christian; father-in-law, Hiram Sampy, Sr.; eight uncles and six aunts; cousin and best friend, Ernest Boudreaux and best friend, Larry Haskins.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Syrie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
