Lafayette - A Celebration of Life for Brother Edward Rhone will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014, 11:00 AM at Gethsemane Church of God In Christ, Lafayette, Louisiana. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. Bishop Roy H Winbush will conduct the service. Viewing will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 8:00 AM until the time of service at Gethsemane Church of God In Christ.
On March 24, 2014, the pearly white gates of Heaven opened for Edward Rhone where he received his angel wings. Brother Rhone attended Central Consolidated School in Dubberly, Louisiana. He later became a truck driver. He also began his own lawn service with his son called Father and Son Lawn Service, where he worked until his death.
He was baptized at an early age. Brother Edward Rhone walked by faithfully with the Lord as he served as a member of the choir and also the grounds keeper at Gethsemane Church of God in Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fordies Rhone, Sr and Alice Roberson Rhone, brothers Ray Von Rhone, Ray Don Rhone and Abram Rhone, sister Mariah Gibson, and daughter Denise Darner.
Brother Edward Rhone leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 35 years sister Debra Rhone and son Thaddeus J (Sonya) Rhone of Lafayette, Louisiana; granddaughter Kelsey Lynn Rhone of Cottonport, Louisiana; sons, Charles Rhone (Rebecca), Oliver Rhone and Eddie Rhone of Seattle, Washington; Darryl (Lori) Rhone of Merrillville, Indiana, Edward Rhone (Pasha) of Boston, Massachusetts, Darrell Rhone of Cincinatti, Ohio; daughters, Joyce Thomas of Seattle, Washington, Doria Rhone of Wheelsburg, Ohio, Suzanne Rhone of Atlanta, Georgia and Alana Rhone of Ferndale, Michigan; brother Fordies Rhone, Jr of Heflin, Louisiana; 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette is in charge of final arrangements.
