Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for George Arceneaux, age 74, who died Friday, July 11, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Services will be conducted by Rev Chester Arceneaux.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
George was born in Carencro, Louisiana January 31, 1940 to John and Lorena Arceneaux. He worked as a bus driver with the City of Lafayette for 25 years. George enjoyed cooking, eating, listening to his French music, spending time with his family and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theresa Vivian Arceneaux; sons Gregory Arceneaux and Michael Arceneaux, both of Lafayette, Louisiana; daughter Monique (David) Gougis of LaMirida, California; sisters Anita Lange of Los Angeles, California and Rosa May Babin of Lafayette, Louisiana; brother Joseph (Pamela) Arceneaux of LaVerne, California; grandchildren, Nicholas Arceneaux, Kennedy Arceneaux and Adam Gougis and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Lorena Arceneaux; sister Josephine Arceneaux Mischeaux; brother Charles Arceneaux.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am.
