LAFAYETTE - On Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Mass at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, 300 West Alexander St., Lafayette, Louisiana for Herbert J Rubin, 75, who passed into eternal rest Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Officiating will be Rev Msgr Robie Robichaux, JCL.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Herbert was born, raised and educated in Lafayette, Louisiana and later married and resided in New Orleans, Louisiana over 45 years. As a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana he was a parishioner of St David's Catholic Church, the Professional Barbers' Association and a member of E J Morris Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Clementine Cockerham Rubin; son, Keith M Rubin, Sr; grand children, Keith M Rubin, Jr, Kierra Rubin, Keisha Brown and great grandson Antoine Marrero; sisters, Joyce (Braxton) Floyd, Maryann (Larry) Francis; brothers, Joseph "Parley" (Joyce), Francis "Junius" (Doroth), Charley J Rubin and sisters-in-law, Velma C Melancon, Dorothy "Dot" T Rubin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charley and Evelia Chaisson Rubin; sister, Dorothy "Cayet" Alex; brothers, Walter, Wallace and Larry Rubin; sister-in-law, Dorothy "May" Rubin and various loving members of his acquired family in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 am until time of service.
