Linus J Valian
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Linus J Valian, 90, who died July 5, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Linus was a former Steward's Mate Second Class in the U S Navy. He served his country in World War II and was honorably discharged on January 8, 1946.
He is survived by daughter Brenda Broussard; son Donald Broussard (Cinderella); sisters, Ruth Jolivette, Bertha (Stanley) Duhon and Dorita (L J) Augustine; grandchildren, Raymond Broussard, Donald Broussard, Linus Broussard, Chad Broussard, Heather (Brandon) Hill, Angelica Landor, Kennedy Broussard; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Rena Zeno and William Vallier; brothers Joseph Cuba Vallier, Sr and Ernest Vallier; sisters Mary Zeno and Lovella Vallier Dugas; nieces Genevieve Zeno and Bertha Andrus and nephews Raymond Zeno, Nathaniel Jolivette and Stephen Augustine.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at Syrie Funeral Home from 5 pm until 9 pm and continue Saturday at 7 am until time of service.
