ST MARTINVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs Joseph Picard, the former Cora Bell Parrie, age 89, at 10:00 am Monday, September 12, 2016 at St Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr Rusty Richard officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native of Zwolle and resident of St Martinville, Mrs Picard passed away at 2:35 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes regional Medical Center.

Mrs Cora Bell was loved dearly by her family and all who knew her. She will leave a lasting legacy for them to carry on.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Joseph Picard; two sons, Neal Calvit and wife Ellen and Leonard Picard and wife Francesca all of St Martinville; six grandchildren, Tara Caldwell, Taylor Calvit, Brock Picard, Candice Picard Rogers, Ava Maria Picard and Shawn Calvit and her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel Calvit and Donald Calvit; parents, Willie and Jennie Sarah Rivers Parrie; great grandson, Tre’gun Allen Duplantis; two brothers, Reese “Bo” Parrie and Rupert “Buddy” Parrie and two sisters, Mary Parrie Ezernack and Ruby “Lily” Parrie Phillips.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
