SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for John L. Gresham, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery (his mother's family plot). Officiating will be Rev. William A. Nolan. John passed on November 18, 2016.
He was born February 15, 1958 in Lake Charles, LA to Thomas Austin and Joan Virginia Yarbrough Gresham. John was an avid tennis player. He won the Louisiana Men's Open Singles Championship at the age of 18. He had many friends on the tennis circuit and served as an instructor throughout the city of Shreveport. He loved music, and solving the New York Times crossword puzzles with his friends. John was a quiet but well-loved man.
He was predeceased by his father. Leaving to cherish his memory is his mother, Joan Yarbrough Gresham; sisters, Christine Gresham Hightower and husband, Steve of Folsom, LA, and Joan Elizabeth "Betsy" Gresham Andrus and husband, Mark of Lafayette, LA; niece, Christine Marshall Andrus of Lafayette, LA; and nephews, Paul Gresham Hightower of Portland, OR, and Scott Morgan Andrus of Santa Clara, CA.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Campbell, Pat Harrison, Brett Marcotte, Ken Sciara, and Gordon Traylor.
